We will never know why Harold Shipman became a serial killer

Born: January 14 1946

Harold Shipman was a convicted serial killer in England. Dr. Shipman is on the list of most prolific serial killers in recorded history. There 218 proven murders but the real number of people he has killed is much higher.

January 31, 2000: A jury found Harold Shipman guilty of 15 murders and was sentenced to life in prison with a recommendation by the judge never to be released.

80% of Harold Shipmans victims were women and his youngest victim was a 41 year old man by the name of Peter Lewis. Harold Shipman was the only British doctor ever to be convicted of killing his patients.

Died: January 13 2004, He commited suicide by hanging himself in his prison cell.
